Onyfix is a nail correction system that treats almost all types of ingrown, curved (involuted), and cracked toenails — without cutting the nail or removing it. Instead of fighting the nail, it guides it to grow out straight.
- Preparing the nailYour foot care nurse gently cleans and roughens the surface of the nail.
- Applying the braceA soft composite is shaped into a thin strip and placed near the base of the nail.
- Setting itA blue light hardens the strip in seconds. It's safe and needs no protective eyewear.
- Growing out straightThe brace holds the new nail in shape, without tension, as it grows. When it's done, it's removed painlessly.
Most applications take no more than 15 minutes. Onyfix can be done on its own or added to a medical pedicure.
How long does it take?
Onyfix works with your nail's natural growth, so the correction happens gradually — over several months as the nail grows out.
How many treatments will I need?
It depends on the nail. Simple cases often need only one application. Thicker or more curved nails may need more than one treatment to fully correct.
Will it hurt?
No. Applying and removing Onyfix is pain-free, and many people notice relief quickly once the nail is no longer pressing into the skin.

How much does Onyfix cost?
$80 per toe, per application.
It isn't covered by AHS or Alberta Blue Cross. Some extended health plans may cover part of the cost — check with your plan. We provide a receipt, but we don't bill insurers directly.
Do I need a referral?
No. You can book Onyfix directly online or call (780) 409-5673.
How many treatments will I need?
Simple cases often need only one application. Thicker or more curved nails may need more than one treatment. Your nurse will tell you what to expect after looking at your nail.
Does Onyfix hurt?
No. Both applying and removing Onyfix are pain-free. Each application takes about 15 minutes.
Is Onyfix safe if I have diabetes?
Yes. Onyfix doesn't involve cutting or removing the nail, so there's no wound to heal — which makes it a good option for people with diabetes and other at-risk feet.
Can I still walk, run, or swim?
Yes. There are no activity restrictions and no recovery time. You can also keep using topical treatments and nail polish.
