The Alberta Insulin Pump Therapy Program (IPTP)

Through our designation with AHS, we facilitate the IPTP for eligible Albertans. Under this provincial program, the cost of the insulin pump and the required monthly supplies are 100% covered for:

  • Individuals with Type 1 Diabetes

  • Individuals with Type 3c Diabetes (Diabetes following pancreatic surgery or disease)

Our Certified Pump Trainers (CPTs) walk you through the entire process, from initial assessment and government funding applications to hands-on training and long-term optimization.

Ineligible for IPTP? We Have Options.

If you are not eligible for the government program—for example, if you already have a pump that is less than five years old—you don't have to wait to upgrade your care. We are experts in navigating private insurance coverage to help you access the latest technology when you need it most.

Integrated Tech & Expert Partnerships

We believe in using every tool available to improve your A1c, Time In Range (TIR) and quality of life. Our clinic is proud to collaborate with industry leaders to offer advanced support:

  • BC Diabetes (Looping): We work alongside BC Diabetes to facilitate "Looping" for patients interested in automated, algorithm-driven insulin delivery.

  • Endor Health: Endor is a specialized pharmacy and a comprehensive provider of pump supplies, all in one place. Endor streamlines the ordering and delivery process so you spend less time chasing prescriptions and more time living your life. We recommend reviewing the Endor Pump Buying Guide to compare the latest features of Tandem, Medtronic, and Omnipod systems.

  • Advanced CGM Integration: We specialize in syncing your pump with Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGM) like Dexcom for a "closed-loop" experience.

How to Get Started (Referral Process)

In accordance with Alberta health standards, patients must be referred by a physician or nurse practitioner to access our Insulin Pump Therapy program. We do not accept self-referrals for pump starts. Patients with type 1 or 3c diabetes may print the below referral form and bring to their primary care provider for completion.
